The Girl

Pay no attention to the girl behind the curtain.

About: Stephanie Carmichael rocks the writing page from her home in Pennsylvania. A big fan of all things geek, she grew up playing games like Zelda and Super Mario Bros. on the NES and soon moved into the world of PlayStation. She was hooked with her first PlayStation game, Crash Bandicoot 2. A lover of the RPG, action-adventure, platformer, fighting, racing, puzzle, and survivor horror genres, some of Stephanie’s favorite games and series include Crash Bandicoot, Silent Hill, Legend of Legaia, Resident Evil, Jak and Daxter, Tomb Raider, Final Fantasy, Dragon Quest, Legend of ZeldaSuper Mario Brothers, StarTropics, Threads of Fate, Prince of Persia, Uncharted, and Guilty Gear. At heart, she’s a PlayStation girl with a guilty pleasure of Nintendo on the side.

Now with a Bachelor’s degree in English literature, Stephanie spends what’s left of her free time penning her first novel. She hopes to work full-time for a magazine or website. She enjoys reading, listening to music, drinking coffee, and humoring her cats. She’s also fond of Star Wars, science fiction and fantasy, and songs about Superman.

Online Resume: Stephanie currently freelances writing weekly comics articles for Impulse Creations, working as a games contributor (former copyeditor) for GameZone, and reviewing books for Kirkus Indie. She worked her way up to Comics Editor and Comic Games Specialist, gaining experience by managing the comics section and staff, writing news and reviews, creating images, managing press contacts, and conducting interviews. She attended San Diego Comic-Con 2009 as press and organized the week-long GEN Eisners feature, which tied together months of work. Her self-taught knowledge of graphic design has led to the development of this blog, coded by Curtis McHale.
