Sounds of Nostalgia

Do we need an excuse to play old games? Hell no! But sometimes music from OSTs can inspire us to try new ones or revisit past loves like dirty, secret affairs.

Hold on, I know what you’re thinking. How can you have nostalgia for a game that only recently came out? Well, it’s easy. It was a great game, topped off with a fantastic songs that makes you want to crank up your volume all the way. In fact, I recommend you do. Seriously, either put on a good pair of headphones or turn it up. No one will mind for four minutes. Or longer.

Many of you probably haven’t played the PlayStation 3 exclusive, Infamous, yet, but when the console gets a price cut and you finally plunk down the cash, this game is one that should be at the top of your buy list. “Silent Melody,” by Working for a Nuclear Free City, plays over the end credits, and includes some relevant lyrics—like all good vocal songs in video games should, as we’ve seen from last week’s Sounds of Nostalgia. Whether you choose the road of good or evil in the superhero game Infamous, you’ll be rocking out to this song at the end of the jam-packed sandbox adventure.
