Bad, Comic, Bad: Robins

There are two main things vintage comics are good for: history and stupidity. And since we already have Sounds of Nostalgia, I figured we’d highlight the stupidity. That’s always fun.

Hats. They really are good for everything. And apparently they’re extremely relevant to Batman. It’s like, six degrees of Batman … with hats.
There’s a lot to love about this panel. The fact that Bats and Robin are actually wearing robin hats (the irony is killing you, I know), the assumption that they’re actually flying (again, the irony is just too much), and imagining Batman telling the Boy Wonder to “shut up” takes the cake for classicism.
And what the hell are they planning, exactly? What comes next? Oohhh, don’t we want to know. Okay, not really. I’m kind of scared, to be honest. So do I, uh, feel like this is just a little bit weird, Dick? Yes. Yes, I do.

I think robin hats are a vastly underused plot device in modern day comics.
