Bombs Away! Pt. 2: Interview with Sacha Borisich

Bombs Away! Pt. 2: Interview with Sacha Borisich

Last time I interviewed Johnny Zito and Tony Trov about their co-written digital comic, The Black Cherry Bombshells. As a follow-up, I talked with the team’s female artist, Sacha Borisich, about her role at Zuda Comics and the vision of BCB.

You can read that here.

Bombs Away! Pt. 1: Interview with Johnny Zito and Tony Trov

The first of my two-part interview about The Black Cherry Bombshells from Zuda Comics is now live on the Girls Entertainment Network. Creators/writers Johnny Zito and Tony Trov talk about their Harvey Award-nominated comic, which has colorful zombies and girls galore in a post-apocalyptic setting. Tomorrow I’ll reveal my interview with the comic’s artist, Sacha Borisich, so stay tuned!

Review: Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum

Comic Book Review: Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum

The Zenescope Wonderland comics are pretty enjoyable—they have a dark and twisted edge similar to American McGee’s Alice, only the blood and gore stays and the mangy Cheshire cat has been toned down a few notches. Of course, that doesn’t mean it’s not interesting and weird in that wonderfully messed up kind of way.

The Tales from Wonderland: Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum one-shot continues the story of the various characters of the looking glass and how they came to be, but it misses a note or two in comparison with the other works in the series.

Darkchylde Meets Darkness

Darkchylde Meets Darkness

There’s nothing overly special about my latest article for GEN—it’s just a press release, in its basic form. But the content is what excites me. The Darkness will be coming head-to-head with Randy Queen’s popular indy comic, Darkchylde, in a standalone comic this December. Packed into the jumbo comic will be some extra goodies, as well, but because of the nature of Ariel Chylde and Jackie Estacado, this could be another great team-up like Illyria’s confrontation with Fallen Angel of late.

Tom Pinchuk on the Mythology of Hybrid Bastards

Tom Pinchuk on the Mythology of Hybrid Bastards

If you’ve been hunting for a short, really weird, off-the-wall comic, you’ll probably be satisfied with Hybrid Bastards by Archaia Comics. The trade doesn’t come out until November, but creator Tom Pinchuk gave me a sneak preview and answered some of my questions about the Greco-Roman mythology-based book.

Review: The Darkness/Pitt #1

Comic Book Review: The Darkness/Pitt #1

I’m not much for aliens … half the time, anyway. I love The X-Files, but I’m not always crazy about other aliens. Superman, Alien Versus Predator, Batman Versus Predator … Superman. On the other hand, I’ve always loved Marvin the Martian, space operas, Vulcans, and bodysnatchers. I guess I have picky taste in extraterrestrials.

Luckily, The Darkness/Pitt #1 hits the right note. You can read my review of that over at the Girls Entertainment Network.

Straight from the Merc’s Mouth: Interview with Daniel Way

Straight from the Merc's Mouth: Interview with Daniel Way

If you haven’t been reading Deadpool, or you’ve been wondering whether it’s worth picking up—you should, and it is. Daniel Way brings new life to the character and rebooted a series that now makes me laugh out loud on a monthly basis. Few comics do that for me, and Deadpool knocks ‘em flat.

You can read my interview with Way over at the Girls Entertainment Network. It’s full of Merc, and thus … awesome.

Batman: Arkham Asylum Interview Pt. 3

SDCC09: Batman: Arkham Asylum Interview Pt. 3

Talking with voice actor Kevin Conroy and writer Paul Dini about Batman: Arkham Asylum was fantastic, but the roundtable stepped down to earth when I got the chance to interview developer/game director Sefton Hill. From gameplay to inspiration, Hill broke the game down to its pixels, giving us a verbal walkthrough of what we’ll experience when playing Arkham Asylum tomorrow.
